www.darkandwhite.co.uk		Dark & White Events in association with Rab are organising a two day mountain marathon/navigation challenge in Northern England on the weekend of 27th/28th September 2008 for solos and teams of two. There will be a variety of entry options available from the tough and challenging Elite course through to the standard categories offering challenging courses over the same terrain as the Elite Course but over shorter distances.
If you are therefore looking for two great days out and want to challenge your navigational skills then read on!

All the courses will be set up on a score basis with a time limit on each day – navigation and event strategy will be key to success. Your aim will be to try to visit as many controls as possible on each day and return within the appropriate time limit (Elite 7 hrs Day 1, 6 hrs Day 2; Other Classes 6 hrs day 1, 5 hrs day 2). Event scoring will be by SPORTident electronic timing – dibbers will be available for hire; SPORTident timing gives efficient on the spot results including control split times.

On the Saturday night there will be an overnight camp so you will need to carry your kit and food - some pre-event planning will therefore be required (and for those new to the event format we will be available to give you plenty of hints and tips). The competition will use rugged open terrain so experience of mountain navigation and walking/running is required. The weather can be unpredictable in the mountains so you will need to be prepared for fair or foul!

A superb range of prizes for class winners and runners up will be provided by Rab.

The exact location for the Event Centre will be revealed one month before the event; camping, changing, showers & toilet facilities will be available.
